Meet Mr. Anxiety!

Meet Mr. Anxiety! :D

In the past I would avoid my anxiety by watching Netflix or walking the dog or something. Now I deal with it head on.

Now in counseling I teach children how to manage anxiety.....by teaching them about Mr. Anxiety....

Almost as though my anxiety is a different person than my 'self'.

Mr. Anxiety is there to keep you safe.

I Say....Thank You Mr. Anxiety, for letting me know there may be a threat you want to keep me safe from. Such as......

Thank you Mr. Anxiety....this is not a dangerous group of people.

Thank you Mr. Anxiety....this place is A-OK...I did my research and checked it out in advance.

Thank you Mr. Anxiety.....this woman is safe...you have known her for a long time and she protects you and loves you.

Thank you Mr. Anxiety.....this group of 20 or 30 people is here to learn from your presentation and speaking to them is a good thing!

Thank you Mr. Anxiety.....making peace with your neighbor is the right thing to do.

Thank you Mr. Anxiety.....you have kept me safe. But finally at 48, I am a big boy now and no longer need your protection all the time.

Thanks.....I will call you when I need you. For now, hang back and chill.

Mr. Anxiety: I know it may make you nervous to not have a job any longer. Walk the dog maybe?
