What is Marriage and Family Therapy?

Stop and pause for a few moments and think about who you surround yourself with, who you keep in your circle, who plays a role in your life. We call this your system. Your system can involve anyone from your mother and father to your best friend to your significant other. Your system not only plays an important part in your daily routine but your overall mental health. These factors influence your dynamics at family gatherings, your conversations, and your energy and functioning as an individual.

Marriage and Family Therapy focuses on the system perspective to not only help a married couple work through conflict or nourish their marriage but also allows one to explore the influence of families, friends, and loved ones.

One of the many effective tools in the toolbox of MFT is its’ ability to highlight the importance of  all different types of relationships and everything that goes into them; communication, feelings and emotions, structure, change, and so much more.
